The Student Services Center provides information about job-hunting activities in Japan. It also provides similar support for international students. The Career Service Center is located on the second floor of Building 5.
◆Job-hunting seminars for international students
Job-hunting activities in Japan commence at the same time for all students who will be graduating the following year. There are many differences in job-hunting in Japan as compared with that in your respective home countries.
Compared to Japanese students, international students may not have adequate knowledge about Japanese business culture, Japanese language expressions, and job-hunting activities. As such, seminars are conducted, in cooperation with the Career Service Center, on the job-hunting activity schedule in Japan and personal experiences from seniors who are already working. The schedule of seminars is available on the website of the International Exchange Center and the school bulletin board (between Buildings 4 and 5). Please watch out for these announcements.
◆Lessons on Japanese language skills necessary for job-hunting activities
Students learn the Japanese language expressions necessary for job-hunting activities and Japanese language expressions for use at the workplace at the Business Japanese I – IV classes, under Management of Technology (MOT) specialization in the graduate school. Other international students may also attend these classes besides undergraduate students and MOT students. Please submit your application when applying for Japanese language supplementary classes. However, only international students in the MOT program are eligible to receive credits for this course.
◆Joint briefing sessions by companies
Joint briefing sessions by companies are conducted for all students in the Faculty of Engineering, together with the Japanese students. Joint briefing sessions are also conducted by companies in Yamagata Prefecture for international students studying in Yamagata Prefecture.
Students are encouraged to actively attend these seminars.
