During the 12th International Summer Program, eleven students from Yamagata University Faculty of Engineering visited King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand, from September 10th to 19th 2019 for cultural exchange.
YU students were able to participate in various activities, such as a tour of the vast campus, research lab visits, culture presentations as well as attending a regular lecture of the Petrochemical Department, to learn more about the research and social life of Thai students. The program also included a visit to Kasetsart University Si racha campus for cultural exchange and a chance to reunite with Thai students that came to Japan during the Sakura Science Plan program last year.
In addition, the Summer Program participants could visit Japanese companies seated in Thailand and inquire about company details and the view point of Japanese living & working abroad.
Throughout the whole program, YU students were accompanied and looked after by KMITL students and new friendships developed.
Although 10 days seemed like a very short period, YU students could experience present-day Thailand and Thailand’s development progress through a variety of activities. The great support and kind cooperation of KMITL was deeply appreciated.
