The 50th “Share Your Experiences” was held on Friday, 25 October where students shared in English about their international exchange activities this summer.
First, 5 students who joined the International Summer Exchange Program 2024, held at the Yonezawa Campus for the first time in 6 years, shared about their experiences. This year, the theme was “Living with Natural Disasters Sustainably from the Perspective of Cities and Architecture” and was joined by students from our partner universities Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) in Malaysia, and Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). During the presentation, students shared about their experiences over the program – discussions regarding the theme, cultural exchange activities, the joy of communicating with students from different countries, and their renewed motivation to improve their English skills.
Next, a students who traveled to China by himself, presented about his study abroad experience at Changchun University of Science and Technology. Although he struggled with the procedures for his first trip abroad, he enjoyed living in a different culture with the support of the people at the laboratory there. Although just a short trip, he showed that his first journey alone had brought about growth as he plans his future goals.
Finally, a student shared about her experience on an external program that she joined with students from other universities. On this program, she went to Estonia and communicated with local people there. She shared about the various activities she did and the European countries she travelled to.
Students who came to see the presentations also actively asked questions, so much so that the event ran overtime!
