On 22 January, Yamagata University Co-op organised a mochi pounding event.
Many international students participated, and the venue with filled with smiles and laughter as they cried “yoisho!” while pounding the rice.
The students were also able to try the mochi, allowing students to understand and appreciate the rice produced in Yamagata through this valuable experience.
